Dr. Roxanne Pettit "Dr. Rox"
Dr. Roxanne Pettit (Dr. Rox) is a native of Smyrna, Ga. As a child, Dr. Rox always wanted to “fix” injured wildlife and pets. This desire to fix animals led her to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1983. Dr. Rox worked as a mobile veterinarian until 2001 when she decided that Arkle needed a permanent home. Over the past 40 years, Dr. Rox continues to help her patients feel better. When not helping her patients, Dr. Rox enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 cats. When her cats aren’t demanding her attention, Dr. Rox enjoys bowling, traveling, playing piano and just living life.
Rebecca, Practice Manager
Rebecca has worked in the veterinary field since 2007. She enjoys being able to make a difference in the workplace so that her co-workers can focus on providing the best care possible to pets. One day, she hopes to be able to travel back to Spain. When not at work, Rebecca enjoys spending time at home with her family, dog Shelby and cat Cali.
Grace, Assistant Manager
Grace has worked in the veterinary field since 2014. She loves to learn new things about animal care and medicine. Grace has been deemed our “cat whisper” because of how well cats respond to her. They just hold a special place in her heart. When she isn’t at work, Grace enjoys spending time at home doing things from painting to learning the Ukulele with her dogs Ruby and cat Yang.
Abe, Veterinary Assistant
Abe has worked in the veterinary field since 1995. Abe enjoys the science in veterinary medicine along with playing with the dogs and cats. Besides his work in veterinary medicine, he is a designer of leather accessories such as wallets. When not at work, Abe enjoys hanging out with his friends and family watching movies or tv especially sci-fi shows.
Kate, Veterinary Assistant
Kate has been in the veterinary field since 2022. As a child, she was always trying to help injured wildlife and learned how rewarding it is to help those who can’t speak for themselves. Kate would love to be able to backpack across Europe. On her off days, she enjoys reading, writing, baking and hanging out with her 3 snakes: Marshmallow, Toast, and Cheese.
Mandi, Veterinary Assistant
Ever since Mandi was a young child, she has always found a way to help animals. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2016 and enjoys being able to use her interest in medicine and science to help animals. She would like to be able to backpack through Europe one day. When not at work, Mandi enjoys spending time with her family, singing, playing piano, baking, drawing and riding horses. She also makes the Blue Shirt Saga Comic Strip about the adventures at the clinic.
